The software was purchased from one of Rosetta Stone's authorized dealers on eBay. He's taking Spanish in High School and needs all of the help that he can get. I was calling to ensure that my nephew would be able to use it. The copyright date is 2007 so it's 9 year old software that was only used a couple of times. Her daughter was planning on studying Spanish but quit after the first week. Today () I contacted Rosetta Stone's customer service department concerning a Spanish Language Instructional Software program that my sister purchased in 2008. But the helpline person assured me that the supervisor would only make me the same offer. I feel quite cheated! When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told that it was not their policy but that someone will call me back within 48 hours. They said all they could do was to give me a 3-month free trial membership, after which time I could purchase a new 'Life Time" membership package. So I assumed that they would take life time users from the old platform and give them access to the new platform. I was told that a few years ago, when they updated their software, they discontinued the program that I had purchased for life and no longer supported it. So I called Rosetta Stone to see if they could locate my account and re-activate it. When I tried to log in, the system would not accept my user name and password. Today was the day I wanted to commence the program. My circumstances changed, so I decided to stop the training, knowing that I could return to it whenever I wanted to. I used the course on the computer and on my app for a few weeks. In 2016, I purchased for $184 a "life time" Rosetta Stone package for Spanish language training.
